Any major differences between the Netgear RT314 and SMC 7004BR Barricade?

Adelphia is installing cable on Tuesday. I just picked up an RT314 from Best Buy for $70, but I just read that Microcenter has the 7004BR for the same price. Which router would you go with? I know the 7004BR has web-based access and port range forwarding, but I believe both of these items have been incorporated into the v3.25 firmware for the RT314. Is there anything else that would make me choose one router over the other? Thanks!

The printer server really doesn't matter to me..already use a 486 for that along with some other stuff. Thanks for the help so far. :)

I have tried comparing the stuff on the Practically Networked page, but there's not much listed there that's different between the routers. :)

The dial-up modem capabilies of the SMC don't matter to me either.

Can anyone confirm that all of the capabilities (except the filtering I think) are available from a web brower on the RT314 with the v3.25 firmware?

It is not a matter of better or worth, there is small differences in features, make sure to buy the one that has the features that you need.

If you are referring to my comment, about the Netgear product being "betta", I made this
comment because his brief mention of his "needs" did not include the SMC's printer server
feature. Addtionally, every review that I have read or heard from fellow Netgear RT314
users, have been very positive.

Therefore, it was "betta" for him in this case. ;)

Yeah, so far it seems that the Netgear will do everything I need. I'm a little hesitant because I've heard the filters and such can be a major pain to set up, but I'm sure I'll be able to figure them out eventually. :)

I was very pleased with my Netgear RT311 for several months that I used it. The only reason I do not use it know is that I built a Freesco router so that I could forward ranges of ports. I may flash the rom on my RT311 to try out the new port range feature just to see how well it works.

The new 3.25 firmware for the Netgear RT314 does have the option of forwarding a range of ports and its accessible through the Web interface. And it works.

Thanks for the v3.25 info. :) Just got cable installed today..it's working fine so far. I think I'm going to install the router on Friday, assuming the cable is still working then. ;)
