Any major difference between these 24" LCD monitors?

My price range is $400 or less (a little over $400 is okay if there's a mail-in rebate) for a 24" LCD monitor.

Of great importance is gaming -- I'm not a super-hardcore gamer, but I play enough first person shooters (almost exclusively) that response time and lack of lag is very important... and a moderate amount of web design -- absolute best color isn't a priority, but I obviously want it to look pretty good.

I've done as much research as google will allow, and these are the ~$400 ones I've found that have gotten pretty good reviews:

Any significant difference between these?

The BenQ has HDMI and a HDCP compliant DVI. They are all TN panels.

So basically the main differences are the connectors, the look, the stand look.

Most people would say to go with the Samsung I believe.

the benq has a much lower nits brightness....

so if you wanted to say watch tv on one of these from a distance that might not be the one to get.

Nah, no cross-room TV watching or much movie watching at all... maybe some Xbox 360 gaming at most, but otherwise really just PC games and some web design. :)

I've heard decent things about the Samsung and it was listed in the LCD thread here as a good option for gaming -- though it doesn't have the overwhelmingly good reviews of, say, their 226BW. And a number of people out there seem to say that TN panels all suck... but is it not the best option for gaming on an LCD, and are they not the only ones priced $400 or less?

Anyway, I do think I like the Samsung, but from what I've heard BenQ is a great brand (though I can't find jack about this particular model), the KDS and Acers have pretty good reviews, if only a few. It's a shame the options for affordable 24" LCD's are much more limited than the 22" ones...

My brother picked up the inexpensive KDS last month and has been pretty impressed wth it. Yeah, it's a TN panel, but getting it for $350.00 (on sale) and having 0 bad pixels is a great deal. It is HDCP compliant, has an extra VGA port, and another port with a component cable connectio RGB. Not a bad deal. The monitor looks pretty nice as well.

If you wanna plug the xbox into it you'll have to get the one with hdcp or all you'll see are menus.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I just gathered that from my soyo 24 inch research.

Yeah, I did see that Samsung's dead-pixel policy is 17 dead pixels on a 24".

Does anyone have any experience with the BenQ G2400W? In the LCD Thread here, the Samsung 245BW was listed as a good option for gaming, due to its fast response and low lag... Image Delay (rt+lag) = 10ms or less. Is this also the case for the BenQ? I do like the looks of the BenQ monitor, and if it has the same CRT-like response as the Samsung, I think I'm sold.

In my opinion get the Samsung 245BW, I've read a lot of reviews on it and it seems to be one of the best 24" for gaming. It has the lowest input response time of all (I think 7ms ?) and with MagicColor the colors look pretty impressive in games (tho not exactly accurate). It also has HDCP and I personally think it has the best design of all + the adjustable stand. The #2 in your list should be the Acer P243WAid, I've seen it in real and was surprised how good the picture was.

2407WFP to be exact.

I'm also a fan of Dell monitors, but wouldn't advice a 2407WFP for gaming.
