Any MAC users out there?

At work, I have been assigned the task of making a movie with
a MAC using iMoviesHD - this movie will be in Quicktime format so that it can be
viewable on both PC's and Macs.

Just one question - how can a PC read a disc that is formatted on a Mac?
Is there special burning software required to make a PC-compatible disc?

In general, Mac reads everything. But PC only reads PC.
However, if this movie is burned to a disc in quicktime format it should work on both machines as-is.

MAC Arghhhh! Lock this thread before I lose my mind!!!!

I get dvd;s with quicktime files on them that were burned on macs all the time, and bring them home to my PC. The only annolmoly I have seen is that the .mov extension needed by windows is not there. Simply add it using the rename file function and bam a working quicktime file. ITs magic!

On another note the 867MHz Powermac G4 tower I was working on can burn in hell and be shat upon by a herd of elephants. All I wanted to do was import one friggin minute of video off a mini DV tape, but it couldn't do it. Piece of $hit. I'm so pissed at macs right now. I should be pissed at my school though, The whole broadcasting building is filled with G5 imac's and high end G4's and they are all used for freaking word processing, and they give us the crap boxes to edit video on. WTF! Is this world really run by people this stupid.!!! P.S. 40GB HDD's just don't quite cut it when YOUR FREAKING EDITING VIDEO YOU DUMB SCHMUCKS AT THE UNIVERSITY!!!!!

//end rant before I get banned.

If I remember correctly, OS X 10.3 and higher can burn PC compatible CDs (1. insert blank cd / 2. drag & drop .mov file on the desktop CD icon / 3. drag & drop CD icon on the "burn" icon in the dock). If you use 10.2 or earlier or if you want to be absolutely safe about PC compatibility use the program Roxio Toast or a similar one. Chose ISO 9660 and even Neanderthal PC should understand the format 😉
