Any long term problems w/high refresh rate?

I'm running a Samsung SyncMaster 900NF monitor at a desktop res of 1024x768x32 w/refresh of 120 Hz. OS is Win2k, video is Gainward GeForce3 Ti200, Athlon 1800+, nothing overclocked. There is a noticeable flicker at any lower refresh rate. Will keeping it so high shorten the life of my monitor?

maybe, but i wouldn't worry too much

i have a friend who has been running his monitor @ 100 Hz for almost 5 years now and it's never been a problem

I dont believe so but your monitor shouldnt flicker at lower refresh rates. might wanna keep some documentation of it. If your monitor can support the refresh rate at that resolution then dont worry about it
