I have installed Mint Petra on 2 laptops ... an ancient HP DV6000 (it runs great and looks good) and a Dell M90. The problem is that the OS runs on the M90 but displays artifacts and whatnot that make it unusable as an OS. I tried to connect the laptop to my access point but the wireless connection settings are illegible. Please take a look at these pics:

The DV6000 has integrated graphics while the M90 has a Quadro FX 2500 vid card. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks ...

If you're using out-of-the-box drivers, this is a common issue. Find out what version your video driver is, then see what the latest driver you can find for the Quadro FX 2500 is. The proprietary drivers typically work best.

I've had issues with SuSE Linux and Xubuntu both on Dell hardware and have had to resort to going straight to Nvidia for drivers. In one case, I had no issues with artifacts, but the driver caused problems when the system shutdown....the proprietary driver fixed that issue.

How did you load the drivers if you cannot access nor read the text from the taskbar?

Thanks ...
