Any legit ways to get Win7 at a discount?

Probably the stupid question of the day, but I need a copy of Win7 for a machine I'm building my son, so I looked on eBay where I found some very cheap (almost certainly fraudulent) but others just a bit cheaper than places like Amazon (not really sure).

Anyone successfully buy Windows 7 anywhere but at a retailer? Are there any legitimate ways to get a license for a lower price?

Thanks.

No, you can get one that will activate but wont be legit unless you buy a used retail copy somewhere. Tiger Direct currently has Win 7 home for $91. Sometimes you can get Win 7 or 8 Home OEM from Newegg for $80 when on sale that happens about once a month.

Check with your son's school. A surprising number of schools have software license agreements which include students, even at the elementary and high school levels in some instances.

The closest I found was an academic copy from the digitalriver superstore + 10% disc.

Total cost is like $62?

This is Windows 8, however.
