Any legal issues with creating an accessory for a product?

I want to sell an accessory for a product. This is a fake example, but let's say my product is a "XYZ for Apple iPod". Can I just start selling a product with a company name and trademarked name in the title? The product my accessory for doesn't makes sense unless I use the full description (e.g. Apple iPod). Are there any legal issues? Do I need a license?

I want to do this at small scale (e.g. etsy, tindie, etc), which is low scale but still puts me having an online presence. I don't want to put the work into building something that I'll probably just break even on if it results in me getting shutdown by lawyers.
 
Do this:
1. Go to XYZ box store
2. Browse similar accessory packaging
3. Learn from what has already done
4. Profit
