Any Lacuna Coil Fans?

I just heard "Our Truth" on XM. They sound like something I might like.

What other bands are similar? Any songs I should check out before buying CDs?

I picked up a CD because someone compared them to Nightwish. They are not quite as good, but do have a couple of excellent tracks.

My favorite song of theirs is "No Need to Explain"

Lacuna Coil is a very good band. I got into them a few years ago and I'm looking forward to Karmacode which is coming out April 4th. They don't sound much like Nightwish though. Yeah, they both have female lead vocals, but Nightwish has more of a power metal sound where Lacuna Coil has a more "traditional" metal sound (for lack of a better term). Although Evanescence is the most recognizable parallel to make I hate doing it 'cause LC is such a better band, IM.

Karmacode came out today. Anyone listened yet? My order from Amazon doesn't come in for a couple of days. Luckily, XM played all the tracks today. I just have to cut the relevant parts from the 7h of recordings I made today. 🙂

I wish the guy would stop singing. Christina Scabbia has a great voice; the guy's singing ruins some songs IMO 🙁

Lacuna Coil is my favorite band at the moment. Comalies is their best album, just got Karmacode on Saturday (direct from Century Media, they sent it out early), still forming opinions on it, definately better than Unleashed Memories, not sure if it tops Comalies yet. Get the 2CD comalies set if it is still available, the acoustic tracks on the 2nd CD are really good. I just buy everything direct from Century Media, it is usually cheaper/same price, very fast shipping and they throw in sampler CDs for their other bands.

The writing on the older CDs is a little bit sketchy, they wrote/write everything in Italian then translate to English (not sure if they still do this), some of the lyrics on the first CD are kind of clunky sounding. Much better on their later CDs.

Check out the fansite www.emptyspiral.net for more info than you could possibly want. They are doing a tour/instores right now in the US (try to attend the instores where they are doing acoustic sets if you just want to check them out, they are VERY good acoustic). The schedule is on emptyspiral and on their Myspace.

They are nothing like Nightwish, no idea why people compare them, they have female lead vocals, that is the only similarity really. Evanescence is probably the most similar, but I dislike comparing them to that since LC has been around much longer.

that makes no sense whatsoever...what does what they sound like and how long they have been around have to do with each other?

Cause I am crazy, it makes sense in my head. 😛 It is more like Evanescence sounds like Lacuna Coil. When you say that Lacuna Coil sounds like Evanescence it makes me think that Evanescence is the original/superior band.
