My G3 400s are only turning out around 900kkeys, while my G3 333 is turning out around 1.2mkeys, is OS 9 a lot slower then OS 8.6? When I look up speeds on the RC5 speed calculator it states I should be pulling around 6mkeys total, but I am only getting around 2.5 for my whole herd, whats up with this?
 
well, until OS X comes out, this <might> be the situation. MacOS isn't preemptive multi-tasking. Meaning, it doesn't know how to share very well 🙁 Are these machines used a lot? They don't even have to be used with anything terribly taxing, even the littlest things can cause the keyrate to drop rather dramatically.

I don't know the specifics of OS 9 (my sis' comp was OS 8.6, that's all I've ever used). Am I to assume that they are up 24/7?
 
Yes they are on 24/7, however, there are usually email clients left in the background set to check every 10 minutes, I'll try bumping up the priority to 7 or 8, that should help.
