What should I be aware of before buying a used PS3 60GB?
What's the failure rate on these?
Is it 100% backwards compatible with PS2 games?

What's the market price for one?

Is there a good way to test it? Just load up a Blu-Ray movie and a game?

Can I buy any HDMI cable to use with it?

I found this local ad. Good or bad?

I have for sale a 60GB Model PS3 WITH the Hard Drive Upgraded to 160GB.
This means that you can play all the PS1 AND PS2 Games with LOTS of storage.

You will get the following
Playstation 3 System
A/V Cord
Power Cord
Sixaxis Controller
Cord to charge controller

All for $325 obo
Or for $400 I will include 2 Games and 2 Blu-Ray Movies

What should I be aware of before buying a used PS3 60GB? - does it work, and is the price right?
What's the failure rate on these? - I don't know, mine has been going strong, 24/7 since last November
Is it 100% backwards compatible with PS2 games? -yes, it has hardware compatibility, not software emulation

What's the market price for one? - can't tell you, but $325 sounds good

Is there a good way to test it? Just load up a Blu-Ray movie and a game? - yep, that's how I would test it

Can I buy any HDMI cable to use with it? - yes

I found this local ad. Good or bad? - good, IMO

It does run hotter than the other versions (so the fans kick on more often), but unless you deliberately close it in, it's not going to overheat.
