yea i know camping is in tents, but when 3 of the people going are girls we need running water shower etc.

im looking for a place that all 6 of us can stay, preferrably in seperate rooms, a cabin type thing. i saw a place strawberry park in conneticut, but its too commercial. pools, basketball courts, arcade rooms, etc. We want something a little toned down.

Been trying google for 30 minutes, still nothing. Anyone have any personal recommendations? I tried to get them to just rent a cabin for the weekend in the woods, but they said they would get bored.

You have camping sites with showers and running water. I've been here and it's nice. It's about 2.5 hours from NYC. You need tents though. You can also search for sites with cabins.

North South Lake

taconic state park? its a pretty nice place

or the catskills...i dont have the name off the top of my head right now.

well i havent found anything great, and the girls are "bitching" about the idea.

So now im looking for any ideas for memorial day weekend within 2 hours of NYC.

I'm looking into those upstate resorts where the meals are included, nothing yet.

you coudl come up to boston lots of stuff to do here

i don't remember if it was 2 hours away, but we did camping in the catskills... it had a central building just outside the camp area for showers.

Maybe you can do a trip to Newport RI. Take your car on the ferry up to CT for a shortcut.

Go camping in central park and listen for the rustling of the wildlife.

how old are you?

there might still be hotels available in belmar, nj. there's beaches, bars, restaurants, mini-golf, rides, boardwalks, water parks, in the immediate vicinity.

Belmar and Newport are both good places. I'd even consider the Poconos in Penn. if you're looking for somewhere with mountains and woods but with amenities as well.

lol what did i spell wrong, 2 words? im too lazy to look up the spelling fot CT and memorial, whoppie do

thanks for the suggestions.

we're all in the age range of 23-25. We went to Covehaven once, so ghetto but a lot of fun and all meals were provided.

we might hit glennbrook farms? not sure what that is, but we'd have to go the weekend before memorial day weekend b/c they're booked.
