Any issues with a saphire 9500 Pro?

fibes

Has Anyone experieneced any issues with this card. I saw a saphire 9500 Pro advertised for $150 at www.eebuy.com (new). I thought this was pretty inexpensive, since the ATi version goes for about $190-200. Tell me what you think.

Thanks

Damn $150 sounds like a hell of a good deal for a 9500 pro. That's about the cheapest I've seen one. It seems they've been going up in price ever the 9600 pro was released and the 9500 was discontinued. And from what I've heard from friends and others on this board, sapphire is one of the best manufacturers for ati cards.

Whoa, I just noticed your sig fibes..how do you get 5 fans in a lanboy?! I just got a deal on one of these and I'm considering using it for my next rig, I'm a little concerned about airflow though. I've heard from others that it isn't adequate. I was thinking I could always mod the case if I had to to get another fan in it. How'd you get 5 in yours though? And how are the temps in it?

The Lanboy is a nice case, it's very light, but very tight. I have 1 fan in the front, 1 in the rear 2 fans on my Zalman universal backet(inside the case) and 1 mod cut in the plexglass window. I might take the Zalman backet out because I don't think it doing any good inside the case. I might make another mod in the plexglass and install a higher performance fan, maybe a Toranado. I don't know the temps of my case, but my CPU is running at approx. 53C. I going to have to buy a monitor sometime in the future to see what my case is running at.

Thanks for the info fibes. I'm thinking I could stick a fan in the side and maybe one on top if needed. I heard it was pretty noisy case too? I'm not that concerened about the noise though, I don't see how things could get much noiser than my current setup. My current one is pretty warm too, so I'm thinking things can't get any worse with the lanboy.

its weird because when I click on the regualr 9500 in the description it says 9500 pro I really hope I dont get a regualr 9500

Hmm that's weird..I assume you ordered this one for $139? That seems too cheap for a new 9500 pro..But who knows. Well if it isn't a pro, maybe you'll get lucky and get a softmodable 9500 🙂

I've emailed them twice since last week trying to find out what they are actually selling and have yet to get an answer. At $149.99 this is probably a 9500 not a pro.

ShotgunED keep us posted when you get your 9500 PRO. I think you most likely got the 9500 Pro. The np is listed at 139.

Well the $139 could be oem 9500np and the $149 could be retail 9500np...Not trying to worry you, but just a thought. That price just seems awfully low.

they are both bulk OEM so it couldent be

btw I am getting it monday along with my other pc componets

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

It appears that eebuy.com made a mistake by advertising a Sapphire Radeon 9500np as a Sappire Radeon 9500 Pro. I ordered the item after reading this thread, but just now got off the phone with a service agent who said that the item was definitely the 9500np.

If you go to your Order Status page on eebuy.com and search for the SKU number there (108265), you'll see that the item description is different than the one on the Order Status page. It doesn't include the "Pro" label.

Back on the quest for a great card under $200...

Confirmed. I just got a reply from my week old email.

The price now is about $140.00. We apologize for the confusion, this is an
Radeon 9500 (NOT PRO) made by Sapphire using ATI chips. Yes. we do have it
in stock

Best regards,

eebuy.com

Too bad it's not a pro. I guess that saying, "if it's sounds too good to be true, it probably is" applied to this...
