Any ipod classic 80gb owners?

Since the 5th gen 30gb ipods are sold out I'm thinking of getting the new 80gb ipod classic. Anyways I just need to know if you still have the "enable disk use" option like the 5th gen ipods so I can store other data besides video/music/images?


Also if you can use it as an external storage device then do you need itunes to use it? Or does it just show up as a drive and you can drag things to it?

you need itunes or compatible software to load/unload songs (there are a few free options now i think) i myself use JR Media Center but its not free (although the best!)

fairly certain you can use it as a mass storage device though, but if you put songs on there like that it just wont see them

Only the IPhone and Touch no longer have disk mode in ITunes. 3rd party programs in the Mac environment can do disk mode though.
