I use Mapopolis for my Clie TJ-37 with an attached Haicom 204S GPS unit. Mapopolis is avail. for pocket pc too. I paid the full $99 for the maps (in easy to download zip files of each state) but I've since been told there's illegal hacks that remove the time expire of the demo maps available by county. $99 is still cheap though.

Oh definitely, we have 3 ipaqs (3630, 2215, and 5500) and we use CF GPS on all of them. I use a no name CF card I got off ebay for my 2215, works flawlessly. I recently bought two ambicon CF cards for the other 2 ipaqs so my parents could use them when needed, they are much slimmer than mine, but work just as well (especially with the external antenna) I'd recommend mapopolis for maps, the interface is extremely easy to use and the voice navigation is right on, even pronounces the names of the streets correctly. I've heard good things about routis, but I have yet to get a copy working so I can't speak to that. Make sure you have adequate storage space, my 2215 has an sd slot but the 3630 I had to buy a dual cf card adapter and use the second cf slot for a storage card. If you have any questions feel free to pm me

I use socket bluetooth gps receiver + the software came with the gps receiver (made by routis).
Software was pretty user friendly, you can load the map state by state or half of the state (norcal or socal). The newer map now has gas station, bank, hotel and restaurants marked on the map as well.

Bluetooth device sometimes is a pain though. You will have to shut off the gps software before you turn off the pocket pc, otherwise next time you turn on the pocket pc, gps might not link with the pocket pc correctly.

The good thing about bluetooth is wireless. The package is quite convenient from vechicle to vechicle and reception is pretty good, even it's in downtown area (with a lot of static and high rise buildings)

I have a friend who uses a DeLorme external gps with his ipaq... not sure which models, but it seems to work well for him.
