Would you be interested in full 1080p "Ultra" versions of the best current gen games if they were available on PS4/Xbone?

For example games like Bioshock Infinite, Last of Us, GTA4, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted series, Halo series, etc... that could really benefit from the higher end hardware.

not me. the only ones i've gotten are just old games that i either have not played, or loved the old ones so i wanted to play them again. current gen games are too fresh in my mind for those anyways.

Nope, I've played and enjoyed em all, and didn't feel they were lacking in graphics.
Would rather wait and get the true sequels.

I wouldn't want them taking away significant resources that could better be used making truly new content.

At the same time, it would be a brilliant move to have a 'classics' lineup of HD versions of the most popular current-gen games IF they found a way to very quickly port them over with higher framerate, AA, 1080p, etc. That could theoretically be done with very little time with the right tools. However, like I said, I wouldn't want them taking away dev time from the true next-gen games at all. It would have to be a project led by a specific team that didn't get pulled from a next-gen title.

Millions of Xbox 360 owners will switch to PS4, and they might have missed out on many PS3 classics during the current gen. Similarly, millions of PS3-only players may eventually pick up an Xbox One, and might have missed some stellar 360 exclusives. It would be nice for those people to be able to play those titles without having to buy an older console.

So my answer is a qualified 'yes', but not if it took away from other truly new projects. I personally wouldn't re-buy anything I already played through, but for titles I missed, I wouldn't mind at all buying a re-release with improved graphics and decreased load times on the new hardware. It would be important that these titles also be priced at $29.99 MAX, and more like $19.99/$24.99 for most of them. After all, all of the art, music, game design, direction, etc, etc was already done and paid for already, and if the game was popular enough to be re-released, it obviously was successful and profitable. Given that simply porting an existing title doesn't take a ton of time/expense, it would be insulting to see it priced at $49+.

Yeah, I mean there were so many great games on Xbox 360 and PS3 that really look bad (in my opinion!) on an HDTV.

I'm thinking they could do full HD versions of single games for like $19.99, or do something really epic like a Gears of War 1-3 all on a single blu-ray in 1080p/60fps.

I'm pretty sure when they make these games, they keep all the art assets in higher res, then they just shrink them down to 720p for Xbox 360. So it wouldn't require much effort to make a new version in 1080p, just put it on a blu-ray and don't shrink the art assets this time.

Red Dead Redemption/Undead Nightmare in native 1080p 60fps would be epic...

That's not a bad thought. However, one must consider that the architecture of the new consoles is utterly different than PS3 and 360 were. Porting titles on a case by case basis would be too time consuming, but if Sony and/or Microsoft put a good bit of effort into a porting system that could be applied easily to previous-gen titles, then it would be much more doable. I don't think they are really all that interested in doing so, however. The streaming/cloud garbage is pretty silly as well. Ah well. We can hope.

If it is a multiplatform title that received a PC port it would be pretty easy to do. Take max settings on the PC version for the console, maybe polish a few other things up, but that is basically what it would be, the current PC version.

I would pay like $200 for a remade SR2 with better graphics, smoother frame rate, and better AI.

Considering that GTA5 will drop close to (on?) the release date of PS4, I would say yes.

lack of BC for such a huge game....sucks.

The talked about Gaikai streaming for PS4 looks like it'd definitely make it easier to allow the ability to play last gen games, Microsoft has their own version, make it for paying subscribers to PS+/Live and I'm sold.

I have a gaming PC, so no to Bioshock, Skyrim, others with good PC versions.

I'd like to see HD versions of Persona 3-4, Xenosaga, other PS2 JRPGs.

I haven't played Red Dead Redemption yet so yes, that would be one reason for me to get a PS4/X1. Same with The Last of Us and PS4.

Not at all. By all means keep remaking the old SD classics with extra/international content for real 1080p and the power of the new consoles, but there's honestly no big graphical jump from most current gen titles to next gen hardware. Games like FFXIII looked fantastic as is even upscaled to 1080p, they'd be dedicating a development team a year of work, and all the money involved to ultimately do what, make a few select scenes keep the FPS from dipping a little bit and make the graphics ever so slightly sharper for the handful of people that will genuinely notice and enjoy the difference?

It makes much more sense to keep doing HD remakes from the Xbox/PS2 era but doing them even better, both financially and from a user enjoyment standpoint.

Dynasty Warriors. Seriously, that's the one game that will benefit most from having more available memory. Ninety Nine Nights actually looked considerably better IMO, but Dynasty Warriors is strictly better as a game. Being able to have more guys on the screen at the same time means more fun getting my mass chinaman slaughter fix.

I'd love a 2 disc Bluray remake of Xenogears...

Two completely full 50 GB Bluray discs. Yes the game scope is THAT big. 1 and a half CDs didn't do it justice.

With 100 GB you could add secret side elements that let you discover and play other eras, explore the Eldridge wreakage more, etc.

Fully play parts of the Solaris vs Shevat conflict, planet fall, more time in the wold of Lacan and Sophia and Krelian, more background on Deus, etc. Would be incredibly epic but would take a decade to make it sigh.

A more epic end game with a almost fully functional Deus terraforming the planet to make it uninhabitable while seeking and destroying undesirable elements and forcing the surviving population into hiding....would have loved to actually PLAY that instead of just the quick narration.
