Smarter than the average watch.

At just 0.3 inches thin with an easy-to-wear wristband or clip, SmartWatch makes it simple to stay on top of life in style with just a tap, touch or a swipe. Read your latest text messages, emails and status updates and see who's trying to reach you, even when your phone's at the bottom of your bag. Choose from loads of exciting new apps on Google Play™ sure to make your SmartWatch even smarter.

Convenience Meets Stealth

Check all your latest text messages, emails, Facebook™ and Twitter™ updates right on your wrist with no need to bother with taking out your Android phone1. Browse new SmartWatch apps on Google Play™ for added fun and functionality. Listening to music on your Android phone? Use SmartWatch to start a playlist, skip to the next song, fast forward a track, and more.

Apps : All events (displays in chronological order), Messaging (SMS/MMS), corporate E-mail (for Sony™ and Sony Ericsson Android phones), Gmail (for all other Android smartphones) Calendar Notifications, Facebook™, Twitter™, Music Player, Call handling (call, mute, reject, or answer and send pre-defined SMS), Pre-defined SMS, e.g. missed calls – I’m busy, messaging - call me, email – ok, Battery strength, Find phone, and Weather widget. Plus lots of apps on Android™ market

Similar to the MotoActv, but not geared for fitness usage. No idea which apps on the Play Store work on it though, seems like an oddball device to support. The smart watch is an interesting concept of device though, will be interesting to see how that medium develops.

I think it looks pretty cool. Showed it to my wife, and she's ready to buy one right now

I am really interested. Can anyone tell me if this is any different than the versions released previously internationally? For example Expansys has it for $117.

Nah, even a dumbphone killed the watch for me besides for occasional dress purposes. Smartwatch aint going to bring it back for everyday use.

yeah because reaching in your pocket is so much harder than rolling up your sleeve and turning your wrist. so what do you do if you accidentally forget your phone, not know what time it is all day?

Between this and the Pebble (that just hit it's $100K requirement on kickstarter), I'm thinking that these types of watches are finally to the point that I'd seriously consider one. Do I need it? Absolutely not. Still, they seem like fun, and with the right apps, who knows, they might actually do something useful.

Oh, forgot one thing - I've wondered what it'll do to battery life if I'm running BT all day. I don't really use BT at all right now, except for when I'm expecting a long call, so I don't know what type of battery drain it is.

I've never even once forgot my phone, ever. It is my precious.

My main issue with a watch was I'd bang it or scrape it on something sooner or later, scratching up the face. Could only imagine with a smartwatch screen.

Who would forget their phone?

I don't like that Sony moniker on the watch. In any case, the Pebble still looks like a better option for me. Although I'm thinking that this will likely be one of those things that I'll use very sparingly and then forget about it.

Definitely interested in the Pebble because the screen stays on the whole time. I do not want a smart watch that requires me to hit a sleep button to tell the time. It has to have the battery life to last an entire day or more with the screen on the entire time.

Not interested in strapping an ipod to my wrist. I'll stick to my nice, professional-looking analog.

If I'm going to wear a watch, it's going to be a nice analog watch.

Also if this were a Samsung product half the posts in this thread would be about copying Apple.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! This thing seems like it would be perfect to control my phone while driving. All I use the phone for is to change tracks, but that could easily be mistaken by law enforcement as texting while driving.

It's just a little bit too expensive. I'll wait until one pops up on Craigslist or FS/FT.
