I'm looking at one of these two power supplies to buy:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703027
PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire ready Power Supply - Will end up being $70.

OCZ ZS Series 750W 80PLUS Bronze High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom $65.00

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703036
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W Modular 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom. Ends up being $74.00

Rest of my system is a 3570k, 1 SSD, 2 HD's, and as of now, a 460. I'll be upgrading the GPU in the coming months though, so I figured I'd get a better PS than needed atm.

Any other suggestions in this price range? Thanks!

I have the 600w. It's quiet, one PCI-e cable is on board so it doesn't take a modular plug. Silencer is manufactured by Seasonic. 5 year warranty.

Who is the manufacturer of your PSU?

I would go with that 750w one. 80Plus Silver. Everything looks good.

My only gripe with it is that its not modular.

Do you have a case that you can hide the cables behind the back plate?

If not I would go with something modular.

XFX 650W $65 AR > OCZ ZS750W $65AR (manufactured by Seasonic, 5yr warranty, 4x pcie connectors, capable of continuous rated wattage)
Seasonic S12II 520W $70
Antec EA650 $65
Corsair HX650 $90 AR AP (full modular, 80+ silver, 7yr warranty)

As long as you're sticking to a single GPU, there's no point in anything more than 650W. Even that is a bit overkill for everything but the highest end GPU heavily overclocked. In all likelihood you'd be fine with 500-550W.

Thanks. How is that HX650 compared to:
SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W

Both are very reliable/ high quality. What matters is the difference that HX650 has slightly higher efficiency and 2 more years of warranty, but you have to go through a rebate hassle to get it for the same price. I've read reports that Corsair rebates, handled by RebatesHQ or somesuch, don't always go through. So don't count the rebate as a definite discount

I wouldn't be surprised if the two 750w models are almost identical.

Op must be a Sirtec fan 😛

I however am not, but if I had to choose I'd go with the PC P&C for build quality and what I would hope is good soldering of the power cables... unless the whole thing is made by Sirtec. Not sure.

I came across this thread while researching the PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk III. From what I can tell, only the Mk II was made by Sirtec, the First Silencer and the Silencer Mk III were both made by Seasonic.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure I've decided to go with the Mk III for my build.
