1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Built around gaming.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
Current amount is approximately $700 upgrade.

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
NewEgg.com/USA (unless I find some awesome deal elsewhere).

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
Intel/nVidia

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
yes

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
likely to OC

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?

I currently have a power source that I need input on. I would really like to avoid purchasing a new one. I bought the original set-up from a friend and it ends up he went a little crazy on the power source.

Turbo-Cool 510 ATX-PFC Express

So the two parts I'm most concerned about is the RAM (not too knowledgeable on that) and compatibility; especially compatibility with my power source. However, any feedback is greatly appriciated. I'm trying to avoid spending much more unless I have to or if I'd gain a huge bang for my buck.

Thanks

That power supply should be just fine for your setup. Everything else is pretty standard. That's about what everybody's building these days.

So for this price range that I'm looking at, are there better options? I literally just stole that RAM selection from a different post that received a "you did your research" from a moderator. If I dont hear otherwise I'll probably place this order tonight.

Looks like good picks to me. I'm looking at a lot of the same stuff, E8400, 8800 GTS 512, G Skill. Your mobo and hard drive were among my final contenders so again, looks good!

Only component I'm not familiar with is the power supply .

Well, this is a good 750GB hard drive for only $20 more:

And this is a good 640GB drive for only $10 more:

That's the only thing I might change. MSI's warranty on graphics cards is three years, which basically covers the useful life of the card. Personally, I went with XFX for the lifetime warranty, but that was when the price was essentially the same either way. I don't know if I'd spend $15 extra for the lifetime warranty of XFX or EVGA.

I'm happy with 500gb because I already have a 7200rpm 200gb (which will now be just for movies music and other media i download). Thanks though, I'm feeling far more confident now.

Well I pointed out the two drives not just for their extra capacity but also because they're slightly higher performance, but the 7200.11 isn't bad.
