Any Image Quality difference

Is their any and I mean any image quality difference in using DVI over displayport for a single display at 1920x1080?

Thanks

The reason I ask is I got a Dell U2311 coming and its IPS. I want to make sure I get the full effect of the IPS and wasn't sure if using one or the other would make a difference in image quality

DVI and DisplayPort are both digital interfaces. The primary difference from a user perspective is the size of the connectors and the cables themselves. HDMI is the only specification that screws with the actual data going over the wire (see: deep color) but that's only true of connections between "movie" sources and displays.

This and that HDMI and DisplayPort also passes audio. DVI is video only. But absolutely no difference in image quality.

and what the heck happened man? thought you were going larger? 🙂

I think displayport cables are generally better so potentially you could get a better picture compared to a poor quality dvi cable. I'm not supporting monster or expensive cables, but bad cables especially long ones can result in sparkles and other artifacts.
