I have got a system with a Creative Labs Annihilator Pro card in it. If the computer sits turned off for long, turn it on and the creen will be scrambled and when it gets to the Windows xp loading screen there will be colored bars running vertically all the way down the screen and the system will lock up. I can get it started in safe mode but it will still have the vertical bars through the screen. If I pull the card out and reinsert it the computer will start fine and will run fine. I can even leave it on for hours. The computer was up for 9 hours with no problems. You can even do a restart and it will be ok.

I have tried ceatives own drivers and nvidias detonator drivers also and I have tried the card in an ECS K7S5A and Abit KT7-Raid mobo and same thing. The card is not overclocked and the only thing not stock is it has a blue orb on it.

Any ideas

I thought of over heating but. The K7s5a I have it on now is in a modded case. The video card has a 120mm delta blowing on it. The cpu is an Athlon xp1800 with a thermaltake volcano 7 on it. My cpu temp never goes above 41C under full load, case temp never exceeds 30C and chipset is the same. I did apply a new coat of AS 2 to the video card.

But what makes me think it isn't heat is because it is fine through lots of use. It is only after it has been turned off for a while that acts flakey.
