Any ideas why RAM prices are so high?

Used to be around $40 for 512mb DDR PC2700

Now its around 70-80... any ideas on why the price is so much higher now?

Seasonality and the DRAM manufacturers are shifting production over to flash memory.

RAM used to be a great deal if you could find it for $1/megabyte, I think RAM is pretty cheap right now.
