any ideas when hdd prices drop

slow dropping, though mostly they are still recovering from the floods.

pre flood prices are half expected around chrismas.

Current prices from my watching locally is that the rate of droping has leveled out.
 
I almost shitcanned a 250GB drive I had sitting around because I thought it was obsolete. It just became my external backup. Who knew magnetic storage would become so precious?
 
I dunno. I'm seeing 2TB 7200 RPM Hitachi drives for $169 at Fry's and OfficeMax. That doesn't seem like a huge imposition to me. That also represents a big price drop from six months ago. At some point, you gotta pay to play, and $169 strikes me as reasonable.
