Any ideas on what my problem is?

Ok so I built a new PC-Asus A7V8X-X motherboard, AMD 2800+, 512 MB PC 3200 Corsair Value Select, Ati Radeon 9800 Pro, Mitsumi floppy, Lite On 52x32x52 CDRW, Lite On 16x DVD ROM. I am tryin to install Windows XP and I have tried a few different setups. Setup 1 I have the ram in the first slot and the Windows Setup Screen comes up and it doesn't even come to the partition screen. For setup 2, I'll put the 512 Mb of ram stick in the second slot and it gets to the partition screen, partitions the Maxtor 40 GB hard drive, and then when it tries to copy windows files it stops at about 10% at the setupdd.sys or something file and I get some weird error. Is there something wrong with the motherboard? I am so freakin pissed right now. Any help is really appreciated.

Well, it's either your motherboard or your ram, but more than likely your motherboard. You could borrow a stick of ram, if you want to make sure.

I agree. Try running MemTest86 and see if it comes up with any errors.
