Hey folks :)

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 and it's very creaky and noisy on the right hand side. The top part of the case creaks when you rest on it (like when you type).

Any idea on how I can safely reduce this? I was thinking some sort of glue on the edge but then it would be impossible to service.

I'm suprised Duck Tape took that long.

Motor oil is an interesting one. I fail to see how it will help, but it could be fun!

Go here
http://spiike.shadowdragon.net/chassis%20stage%20one.htm

This is a Chassis Modification 8600 to D800/M60. Ignore the chassis conversion. There is a way described lower in the page in order to remove the creaks and squeaks in your dell.

Follow the chassis squeak removal technique. Telfon tape works wonders.

P.s. This does involve opening up your laptop. This is btw, VERY easy. Refer to the service manual, if any doubts remain, PM me.
