any ideas on how to frame/preserve a newspaper?

i've got some cool front pages of the Pistons winning the championship and i want to preserve them.

if i just find a frame, will it prevent it from yellowing? should i laminate them?

I'm gonna keep an eye on this one I still have some papers of the Wings winning their last one I want to frame as well.

Maybe get 2 panes of glass or plexiglass and sandwich the newspaper in between, sealing it off?
Or you could bring the paper to a framing shop and see what a pro has to say 🙂

check into newsprint archiving.

You want to do alot more than just press it between glass usually. Newsprint is hard because it's not meant to last and some is even designed to biodegrade quickly.

Usually neutralizing acids, isolating the media from air and humidity, and then protecting from UV is important for printed goods....the ink used is also a limiting factor....the best inks are designed for archival use and very expensive compared to run of the mill inks.

:Q now dont I look like a fool!

You need to take it to a professional frame shop and ask them to do a "Museum framing". The newspaper will be mount on an acid free mat and sit behind a UV reduction glass.

Try not to get the framed newspaper near anywhere with high humid or direct sunlight.
