i came across this a little while ago (i was trying to find the heat output for a 1.8ghz celeron)

any ideas how accurate the calculations for heat output are???
and what would be the closest cpu listed to use as a base for a 1.8ghz celeron

here is the link http://www.benchtest.com/calc.html

**edit**
im refering to the first section "Calculate Your Overclocked Wattage"

The closest you could probably use woudl be the williamette P4.

Everything about heat production in computers can be canned in a mathematical formula. Thus, this seems like it would be pretty acurate.
