Hey guys!

Just wondered if anyone could give me a hand with choosing a case/power supply/cooling for this little lot. If I tell you the spec of the machine I'm gonna buy could anyone help me out with a good case/PSU? I'm gonna overclock a little bit but nothing major. Here goes:

Athlon 2400+ XP
Epox nForce 2 Mobo
512mb RAM (2 x 256mb)
ATI Radeon 9500 Pro Graphics
Soundblaster Audigy Gamer Soundcard
Western Digital 80Gb Special Edition HDD
52x24x52x Lite-On CDRW
Toshiba 16x DVD 48x CD Drive
Creative Inspire 5300 Speakers
Windows XP Pro

So how powerful will I need the PSU to be and what sorta case/cooling can I go for. I'm not really looking to spend much on the case etc since I've wiped myself out already on the kit! And while I'm at it - what speed memory shall I go for to maximise performance...?

Any ideas....

Cheers guys
A

you can try Brands like Antec and Enermax for Power Supply
you can never go Wrong...
check out www2.tomshardware.com
on a power supply article..
Make sure that the Power supply that you about to get has the Appropriate 3.3+, 5+ and 12+ v values...
You will know what i am talking about once you read the article...

You will get a better response by posting this in Cases and Cooling forum here.

Primary decisions with a case is what do you plan on doing with it, where will it sit, move it often, Want fancy or plain, how many drive total after upgrading, and how easy is it to work with.

I personally love the Antec SOHO 1030/1040 series cases. Alot of room, very modifyable, can be aluminium or steel, 6 smaller bays, 4 larger bays, room for 4 fans without modification, no sharp edges, comes in many colors with alot of premodified options. Made by Chemming, I think, for Antec, Enermax, Chieftec, AlienWare, Directron, and several others. Check out Directron. I have 3 of these cases, 1 is a dual processor server and the other 2 are gaming machines.

For cooling read and search through the Cooling forums and see what others think of for fans and heatsinks.

For power supplies, quality matters, period. Antec or Enermax are the only 2 power supplies I will use. For you 400 Watt will be the way to go.

Good luck and search around before you buy. Stick with very well rated resellers if buying online. Resellers Ratings

Another vote for those Antec cases, come with Truepower PSU's... I think the Antec PLUS 1080AMG would be excellent choice as the case looks pretty decent (better than most the SOHO's anyway) and comes with a True Power 430w. for a quality contructed case (the Cheiftec/Chenming chasis which is used in loads of cases now, coolermaster, antec, etc) and one of the most frequently reccomended PSU's on these boards it's pretty cheap.
