Any ideas if people line up at Staples like they do BB or CC?

I need office supplies so I am planning a trip soon anyways, but I am considering to go first thing when they open to capitalize on some good deals. Any idea if I will be facing a mob scene like I have heard about at some stores?

On the west side of cincinnati there is a staples store on glenway about a mile up the road from where the Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Walmart, et cetera are and I went there a little before 6 AM in 2002 and there were maybe 40 people in line.

So yeah, but no so bad as Best Buy, where there were probably 200 people last year, or even Circuit City which also gets a sizable line going.

Thanks for the heads up!

Just checked the line at the local Staples and didn't see anyone there. Maybe I'll luck out and there won't be that much of a line when they open?

What goodies are you interested in?

Looks like a few of the goodies staples is offering can be ordered online. Just enter in the coupon codes they provide. I am going to order a few things online at Staples.com, and this will give me a chance to hit another electronics store, perhaps circuit city or bestbuy. Trying to determine which one is offering the most that interests me!!

I went last year around 7 and it was pretty packed, 5-8 people in line for each of the 6 open registers. They had actually already sold out of a shredder my mom wanted. But they hooked us up, free shipping to our door, next day.

I'll be going there around 6:15-6:30 to miss the first mad dash inside and grabe me the High-Back Leather
Manager's Chair for $40.

In my area it's a Novimex brand high back leather chair for $50. They claim it normally goes for $150. Interestingly, this company had to recall a bunch of chairs that had been sent to Staples (I think) due to their having bad bases (a couple months ago). (I found all that while doing research on Novimex chairs.) Hope these aren't any of the chairs that were supposed to have been recalled.

I'm also interested in that 256 MB USB thumbdrive and maybe the Maxtor hard drive.

what's the point? I saw no real deals at any stores this year.... I guess people don't value their time very much to be lining up at stores 5:30 am? that's nuts. Black Friday blows nutz 2004

The CC in Coral Springs had a good 150-250 person line out front. I pulled up at 5:55 and saw the line, sat in my car for 10 mins as they filed in, walked right in after them, got what i needed in 5 mins and checked out. All in all a 10 minute ordeal, hardly bad at all.

When i worked at another CC last year though, it was another story. Selling computers, i had a line at my register that took most people 35-45 minutes to reach the front, averaging 30+ people at a time. It was crazy.
