Any ideas for an upcoming Napa trip?

The wife and I are going to Napa for my birthday in two weeks. We're planning on doing The French Laundry and of course hitting up the wineries, but is there anything else we just have to do? I've been to the area before, but never with a significant other.

So, any ideas? Anything particularly romantic? I think we're going to try a spa in Sonoma (friend is getting me the name), and there are a handful of wineries I'm quite sure we'll be visiting. She has something planned for me that she won't yet tell me, but I'm not sure what it is yet.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

I was going to say The French Laundry but you've got it down already. Have you made reservations (apparently they accept reservations 2 months from the day you make them)?

The beaches in northern california are really nice for walks and stuff...

Can you get me an air filter for a 2001 Toyota Tacoma while you're there?

Oh wait, wrong Napa.

She made reservations, but I'm confirming everything tomorrow just to be sure.

I didn't know if the beaches would be close enough, but I'll look into that as well. We both loved the San Diego (specifically La Jolla) beaches.

I went with my sis and cousins up there in January for some wine tasting. We did the usual short-bus tour where we hit up like 6 wineries. The wine train sounded tempting, but we were running late. Our tour guide highly recommended it though. Chandon is a nice winery to visit if you're going tasting. Although it's one of the more popular and busier ones. Ended up buying like $300 in wine there.

If you get the time, take your wife down to Carmel and Monterey. Nice beaches there. Say hi to Clint Eastwood for me when you're down there.

Yeah, we went to Carmel last year actually. We loved it there, though we went around Christmas time and it was a bit cold. Point Lobos was great.
