Any ideas for a WinME computer? *Anyway to modify startup items from DOS?*

I'm having a problem with a WinME computer where it locks up on boot. It asks for an iphlpapi.dll file, and when I replace it it still has the problem. Any idea as to what might be wrong?

Same problem in Safe Mode.

The system won't even boot. It loads the Lexmark Network Server and then freezes.

Have you tried msconfig to see what may be laoding at start that could be causing the problem?

If it won't boot he can't get to msconfig. If I understand his situation correctly

EDIT: Can you remove the hardware associated with this file and get into safe mode?

No, don't know of any DOS proggie for that.

Have you tried re-installing ME over top existing install?
