Any idea why there is a yellow stripe in my Windows Media Player?

I have WMP11 in 32 bit Vista Home Premium on my HP laptop. It shows a wide, flashing vertical yellow stripe in about 30% of the videos I attempt to play. Any idea what could be causing this or what I could look for to determine the problem? Thanks.

It has something to do with the videocard drivers and VMR9 and I hope it will be fixed soon, it drives me crazy. Try disabling VMR9 and enabling Overlay instead, it fixes the problem.
What's the difference between Overlay and VMR9?
