Any idea why Task Scheduler in Win2K would stop working?

My apologies. I've done that before. I have a bookmark to Anandtech and it's set to the GH forum and I sometimes forget to click over to another. This is where it belongs, I believe?

Running Windows 2000 Pro on a custom built 1GHz Athlon 900, ABIT KT7RAID.

I just found it's been a month since the last time that Task Scheduler ran any of my scheduled tasks. I use it for Norton Speed Disk, to run overnight once a week, and for a couple of batch files I use to back up my data from one hard drive to another.

It says Status:"could not start", and Last Result: "0x3000013a". I went in and tried setting one of them to a Run Once to see what it would do, and I heard the hard drive click just a quick click at the scheduled minute, and for that one the Last Result is "0x0". I'm a computer student so I recognize the hex address thing, but it gives me no clue. I can run the apps manually, just can't get Task Scheduler to do it.

I can't think of anything I did or anything that happened on that date, but they all last ran 8/24/02.

Have you by any chance changed your password? If Norton or any other scheduled task tries to run a scheduled command under your current useraccount with the wrong password, they would certainly not work.

The 0x0 means that the task was completed successfully.

Here is a little page for error codes

Here is what it says

0xC000013A: The application terminated as a result of a CTRL+C.

That could be permissions problems...

also try to examine the event viewer for more info

try this also
