Any idea why my thread was locked?

I created this thread and it just got locked. In it I provided a link to a previous thread I had created. The two threads were related, but my second one was asking a question that wasn't even addressed in the first one so I didn't think it was a matter of reposting old info. I'm sorry if I was posting too much, but I felt my question required a new thread instead of burring it in the other thread that was a week old and a pretty confusing read to get to the end of.

Disapointed,
Dave

It was probably because you cross-posted (rarely is that a good idea), or that rather than bumping an old thread, you posted a new one. Hard to say for sure, though. You could PM the mods (PM AnandTech Moderator) if you are really curious.

Probably because it was a TCP/IP problem (Networking) that wasn't in the right forum

But to answer your question, nothing short of a format will help your problem (from my experience). I've had the unfortunate opportunity to have relatively the same problem and reinstalling the OS, deleting and installing the TCP/IP stuff from the OS disk, and downloading updated versions off the net didn't help. A fresh format did however
