I am using DNS9 Med and this runs slower on my Fujitsu N5010 P4 3 GHZ HT with 2gb ram and 60gb 7200 rpm HDD...

I have it set to 100% poer/performance..ie never use use as a portable always plugged in via AC adapter

Supposedly they will start appearing in the market in the next 2-3 weeks.

DT says today (Sunday, Aug. 27).

UPDATE: Confirmed, you can now order a Qosmio g35 from Toshiba with a T7200 (2.0 GHz) C2D. It'll cost ya $3,499 though.

thanks guys..I was reading at another forum that there will be a chipset change that may improve performance ...

I have to say I am pretty confused with Intel as I have been using AMD the last 3 yrs

Quick refresher for you then:

AMD is stalled on the mobile front with Turion 64 X2. That will be its best mobile offering for the next while. The next mobile offering is codenamed Bulldozer:

Intel currently has Core Duo & Core 2 Duo, as you know. Assuming you're familiar with them, the only thing you need to know about is Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa is a new platform which will use the current Merom (Core 2 Duo) chip in a new socket, adding tons of features. Dynamic 800MHz FSB, integrated 802.11n & maybe WiMAX, much upgraded integrated graphics, and more. This news report has a lot of info and links to other news reports that will cover all current details on Santa Rosa:

Oh, Santa Rosa will also add the Robson flash technology. Robson will incorporate Flash memory onto the system board for increased performance and reduced boot times. This will become particularly important with Vista.

Yep, Dell's available now. Well, they ship 9/12. Came on here to share the news, and I see I was beaten to it. I've always been a Dell guy. Any hard evidence against getting a Dell?

Yeah I'm waiting for Santa Rosa too. My Pentium M Thinkpad T42 is holding up perfectly, so I can wait a little while to get the most technology for my money.

Add me to that list. I'd love to buy an HP DV2000T today but my Dell 700m still works just fine.
