They have this in notebooks via Optimus & IGP. Don't they?
When will the IGP in Sandy Bridge allow something like this in Desktop systems?
I am unsatisfied with Virtu and all that crap. They keep the GPU in idle, but still powered (fans, etc). GPUs run Windows' 2D interface without a fuss anyway. So I don't see much of an advantage, power wise, until they can fully shut down power the GPU like they do in notebooks.
Or am I wrong and it doesn't work that way in Notebooks via Optimus / it works that way via Virtu in Desktops?
