Any idea on compatibility of existing 975x boards and Conroe?

either be patient and wait until Conroe is released and get a 965 or go with Opteron 165 or 3800 X2. I don't understand why people insist on getting the board now and use 805 as a stop gap. First revision 975 boards are expensive w/o official support of Conroe, and 805's value will drop significantly when 925 comes out. Lose Lose situation for the buyer. Don't bite on Intel's marketing, just wait until Conroe comes out.

Nothing's forcing you to change sockets in a few weeks--I mean, it's perfectly safe to go with a cheap AMD 939 X2 or an Oppie and just wait for Conroe to even become available.

Production won't make that possible for a while after it comes out even...

Rev. 304 Bad Axe mobo from Intel is only current mobo that supports Conroe to my knowledge.
