My computer room is 20+ feet away from the nearest phone jack in my apartment.
I run a 24ft phone cord from the jack to my dsl modem.
For work, I need to make a dial-up connection.
What would be the most convenient/quality-preserving setup for this?
Actually the only setup I can think of is to get a y splitter, plug it to the end (the end that currently plugs to the dsl modem) of the 24ft, and connect 2 more 6 ft phone cords, 1 to go into the dsl modem, 1 into the 56k modem.
This dialup use will only be occasional. I don't want my highspeed to suffer too much for it.
Any thoughts?
