any idea how to get a domain UNblacklisted?

I bought a domain shortly after it expired. Apparently the previous owner used it for spam or it had an open smtp gate or something.

Anyhoo, everytime i send mail from it i get a bounceback saying that the recipients server does not allow email from the domain 'mydomain.com'

Anything i can do?

Go to all the listed sites and follow their instructions for removal. It's a PITA. Make sure you go to all the open-relay sites too, they require you to run an open relay test before removal.

stop allowing open relay/get somebody that knows how to setup a smtp server right to do yours then clear it from the blacklists, it isn't rocket science/brain surgery

I'm not allowing open relay, it was the domain owner before me.

And i'm not buying a different domain, it's already operational.
Finding the perfect business name, with available .com domain is an extremely challenging task.
Branding is is just as tough.

Thanks for the advice werk.
