Any HVAC people on? An apartment A/C that won't cool

I've been running it almost all day and it barely made a dent in the oppressive heat.

It's a 1.7 Amp Lendell high efficiency unit if that matters. I even boght a brand new filter and it's nearly 90 in here. Outside temp got above 100 today but is below 90 as well. It will soon be colder outside than it is inside with the A/C blasting...

 

Freon leak?

Make sure the condensing coils on the outsides of the unit are clean and free of obstructions.

is the breaker tripped? (yes, it will run with one breaker tripped, but it wont be cooling anything, just circulating hot air)

Just had the ducts and return professionally cleaned yesterday

How many BTU's is the unit? How big is the room you're cooling? Are you on a second floor?

3rd floor apartment approximately 1300 sq feet 2 bedrooms, BTU's not listed

Yep, that should work. You'll still be hot, but won't give a flying you know what.

 

Does your apartment have an emergency maintenance number? Tell them you're an asthmatic or something...ANYTHING to get someone out there tonight if you can. 🙂
