Any hope of salvaging this hard drive?

I had a system running fine using 2 SATA drives. I recently just got a new case and
moved all my components into it (haven't updated my sig quite yet). Anyway, my WD 250gb drive is still working fine, but my 250gb Seagate (perpendicular model) seems to have died on me. Is there any advanced way to try to get the info off of it, short of sending it to a pro?

This is what I've tried:
- attaching it to 2 different systems, but systems won't boot if it is attached (even with it in SATA plugs 2, 3, or 4) even on a system that runs windows on the IDE hard drives
- tried booting system w/ a Ubuntu live cd to see if I could see the drive, but it was a no-show when it got to the linux desktop
- i've properly set the jumpers for 1.5 or 3 depending on the system it's been plugged into

Any other ideas I could try?

If it is a SATA drive, then it is Hot Swappable .. so boot up first, then connect it
and see if you can read it.
