Are they? Microsoft stopped selling XP licenses to OEMs, yet OEMs still had plenty of product incapable of running Vista sitting in their warehouse. What did you expect them to do?
Royalty OEMs were free to ship XP preinstalled until June 30, 2008. IIRC, this was only a six month extension on the original January 31, 2008 'end-of-sales' date for OEMs.

You don't get it. Microsoft obtained their operating system hegemony by building a massive ecosystem around their product. Compatibility with a vast amount of third-party hardware and software is Windows' primary selling point. Windows problems caused by third parties are Microsoft's problem.
lmao! OK, if you say so. As long as you don't allow any facts or reason stand in the way of your opinions.

I had Vista and got 7 about 2 months ago. Loved Vista and love 7. Before I moved to Vista64 I made sure that I had drivers for it and if stuff I had didn't have drivers, I bought new hardware. Never had any problems with Vista. Main reason I moved to 7 was for TRIM support but the many other improvements are great too.
