Any hope for old "resin wicker" patio chairs that have been sun-beaten to death??

So, if you've shopped patio furniture in the last decade (especially Costco) you've seen this "resin wicker" stuff that's hit the scene and everything's *supposed* to be weather resistant.........(yeah right)..........and I now officially have a $1K patio furniture set that is just toast. 1 of 4 chairs are even useable anymore.

(No, I wouldn't have put 'em in the garage, covered 'em, etc. it's friggin' patio furniture)

Anyway, in case you're not readily familiar, here's a good example. It's dark in color, basket woven and seems like a great idea but then the sun pwns the stuff like everything else.

Since the set I have has quite a beautiful curvy framework and the cushions are all in good shape I wondered if anybody re-weaves this stuff.

The sun has literally EATEN THROUGH these suckers!!

They look as though somebody threw a bowling ball through the backrests on 3 of them.

I haven't bought any patio furniture ... every, but this site looks to have a decent selection of wicker chairs/sets.

To be honest, if I were to need patio furniture, I would either get some made from cypress and stainless steel bolts, or find some of that steel stuff that was coated with dip n grip type stuff (you know, the stuff that makes a thick plastic-rubber coating over anything?).

i have a hard resin wicker set in our semi-enclosed patio (roofed but walled with mesh screen)
They are doing fabulous right now.

Um I think you get a warranty (lifetime) or something to that effect with these new type of resin wicker sets.

Did you save your sales receipt?



Wife and I have this set below. It's got the real THICK resin wicker cords and bolted together real tight, I would imagine it could take a sun beating for a while, but I wouldn't know, mine is shaded 24/7.
