I'm seriously considering selling my brand new 5200 to buy a 9600 Pro, but if there is any hope for the 5200 I'd like to know first :p

System setup:
(Btw, i bought the card before I realized that the 5200 didn't mean it was better than a 4200 :/ I should have researched before I bought, I know...this was a week ago also)
Asus N-Force2 motherboard
256mb 3200 ram
256mb fx5200
Audigy 1 sound card
dvdrw
xp 2600 processor
Scorpio 868w case (Bad ass!)

1360 3dmark2003 score! o_O (Free version)

I've seen people get in the 5000s w/ 128MB FX5200s. Guess you got a bad card or something.

Not in 3dmark03. You need a 5900/9700 to get that. And yes, sell the card. There is no saving it. Also getting a 256mb model was a completely mistake. Also, getting the ram on your system up to 512mb would probably help a little too.

No offense man, but go ahead and sell that useless gpu for the 9600pro you mentioned.
It's a complete piece of crap.

Welcome to the club. :)

I made a similar mistake with my 9600np 256mb. It's a bow wow. My R 8500 knocks it in the dirt. :D

Just installed new drivers, got a 1360, good improvement but still very deficient of performance.

Now, to find someone to buy it for oh... $110. Btw, I didn't know I was getting the 256mb version, I told Ken to order one for me and he got it, I thought I was going to get a 64mb...

Spineshank r0x0r!

I finally actually *bought* cd's today, (Adema, Spineshank, Orgy's cd's, Soil, Ultraspank, Enema of the State) and they sound so much better than my mp3s, I have never realized just how much difference there is. Now, to replace my collection of 4,120 mp3's with real CD's.

It should just be called fx 52, half of that VRAM is just there to make the board look like its brutal.
