Any hockey players??? Help needed

I know there have to be a few hockey players on here, so maybe someone has an idea for me.

I'd like to be able to use my Synergy stick outdoors, in addition to indoors. I am so used to using it indoors, that when I play roller hockey on Sundays I find myself a little off, because I am not used to using 2 piece sticks, or full wooden 1 piece sticks. Is there anything I can do to the bottom of the blade to "outdoor-proof" it? Or can anyone recommend a similar 1 piece stick to the Synergy which CAN hold up outdoors? No stick I've EVER used has even come CLOSE to the feel of the Synergy, and now I am spoiled from it. 🙁

thanks all.

I'd like to officially say YOU ARE NUTS. $120+ stick on asphalt ? Heh. No there's no way anything can protect against asphalt. It's simply a rough surface. Different from ice (regular tape protects the carbon fiber easily on ice - and you're not going to use tape against asphalt anyway). I'd say just buy a $25 wood stick and use it on asphalt. I know there's a huge difference in weight and feel, but it's better than ruining your Synergy.

An alternative for you could be the Easton Synthesis stick which I use. It's basically a 2-piece Synergy. Tapered so the kickpoint is real low... hell the insertion point is no more than 3 inches above the heel of the blade, as opposed to regular 2-piece sticks at 5in+. It retails for $80(shaft)+$50(blade) so you can give yourself a break there. Feels EXACTLY like a Synergy.

BTW, what flex are you using?

I do have a number of other sticks, but I just can't get used to them now. The one I've been using lately is a Bauer Impact 500 1 piece wooden stick with a Lindros curve. I also have an Easton Ultra-Lite, Easton Cyclone and an older Easton 5000(i think). Guess I'll have to just make do. Maybe I can find a better blade than what I've been using, would love to get another Drury curve for one of my shafts.

I use a 100 Flex Synergy Grip(yellow one), with the Drury curve.

loved the drury curve... use the sakic one now... love it more... similar without the top of the blade as open... you should give it a go. 😉

I will try it out, thanks. I think I will browse around for some blades to use with my Cyclone rather than another stick. I wouldn't feel so bad dropping 35-40 bucks on a blade every so often, rather than ruining my Synergy.

thanks man. 🙂

Don't use the carbon fibre on the asphalt :Q

Just use wood......... wood is good 🙂

If you go wood............... Sherwood Featherlight 5030 🙂

oh once you find the one you like, you should see if epuck.com carries them. They will pricematch to any other online retailer if you ask nicely. Shipping is minimum $7 though. Nice if you buy more stuff... like the odor eliminator spray (that stuff does wonders).
