Racer X! I love (pre-Mr. Big) Paul Gilbert. I think Racer X put out a new CD recently. The other guitarist, Bruce Boulliet is from my hometown of Vincennes, IN. But he left for LA before I moved there. Some of my friends knew him well. Download some video clips of Paul Gilbert's instructional videos to be blown away by pure speed technique. One clip I have, he shows a pattern of like 50 notes going down the neck. Then he speeds up faster and faster, until he plays the entire riff in like 2 seconds. Simply amazing!

I did see Stryper live last week. But I don't think that counts as metal. 🙂 Still, very talented musicians, even at 40.

Scarified's my favorite. I have the sheet music/tab, but even as a 15 year guitar player, I can't begin to play that piece.
