Some of you might recall a thread I made earlier about my doctor making me kick smoking to aid bone healing.

Well, instead of smoking, I took to munching on raw cloves. The cloves act as an analgesic and gives me a mild buzz which helps me to stay off smoking.

The only problem is that I have too many of them. Are there any health ramifications from having too many cloves? I tried searching on the internet, but there is nothing dealing with negative effects of cloves.

It might be acceptable to eat handfuls of cloves, I'll have to ruminate on the issue.

Eugenol comprises of 72-90% of the essential oil extracted from cloves.

Toxicity of Eugenol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenol#Toxicity
Eugenol is hepatotoxic, meaning it may cause damage to theliver.[19][20] Overdose is possible, causing a wide range of symptoms from blood in the patient's urine, to convulsions, diarrhoea, nausea, unconsciousness, dizziness, or rapid heartbeat.[21] According to a published 1993 report, a 2-year old boy nearly died after taking between 5 and 10 ml.[22] Eugenol is subject to restrictions on its use in perfumery[23] as some people may become sensitised to it, however, the degree to which eugenol can cause an allergic reaction in humans is disputed.[24]

Quality Simpsons reference.

OP, You do know they still make nicotine gum, right?

Yea, but the doctor warmed me away from nicotine of all types to promote bone healing.

Thats why I substituted cloves instead of nicotex or nicorette.

You need a hotel room for a week or else you are going to fight with people over dumb shit. Yes I would imagine inhaling 300 rads a year of polonium would slow down bone healing.
