I have two regular SD miniDV camcorders with which I have shot hundreds of tapes of family and friends.
The most time consuming part is trying to go through a 60-min video to compile a useful 5 to 10 minute version of the shoot. I burn the thing to my DVD recorder via IEEE ... onto a DVD+RW disc and spend time trying to delete the portions I don't need. VERY VERY tiring.
I would much rather have a camcorder which will let me review my recording in-camera and tag a certain portion and DELETE it. A hard drive based camcorder is presumably more suitable for such things.
While I am at it ... perhaps a 1080p camcorder might be a nice upgrade.
Any advice appreciated.
