any hardware diffrences between the 40/60/80gb ps3?

I'm looking to get one obviously prices differ due to storage but are there any hardware/software diffrences? Possibly diffrent versions?

Also is the hard-drive used in the ps3 a standard SATA 3.0MB 3.5 drive or something more?

asking because orginally i was gonna get the 80gb but then this 40gb kmart one started to float around
 
40 has no PS2 backwards compat because they removed the GS and EE. It does have PS1 backwards compat. It also only has 2 USB ports and no memory card reader (if I remember correctly).

60 has the best you can get when it comes to backwards compat as it has the GS and the EE.

80 has good backwards compat as it has the GS and a software-emulated EE. It has all the bells and whistles.

40GB also loses the ability to play SACDs (Super Audio CDs), although I doubt many people even knew about this in the first place (or cared).

Wikipedia has a nice diagram explaining all of the differences.

Could someone please link to a reliable source on this? People keep saying it, but I can't find it anywhere.
