Any guesses as to when 8800gt cards will become more available?

So I really need a new card for COD4, my 6800gt just isn't cutting it, I narrowed it to the 3870 and the 8800gt as I want to play 1600 x 1050 somewhat reasonably, then ruled out the 3870 as I only have a 420W PS and don't want to upgrade that as well....and well now I cannot for the life of me find a 8800gt, I typically like EVGA cards but the prices seem higher than I thought they would be or they aren't in stock....

Should I give up now and go with something else or hold on and see if they become more readily available?

Any thoughts on the 8600 GTS 512mb for this game?

Thanks

The 3870 will work with your PSU, it's power consumption is about the same as the 8800gt at load and it consumes less power at idle. I'm running my system in my sig off of a 400watt FSP with 30amps on the two 12v rails with no problems.

Ya....3870 is 55nm....low power consumption. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, ATI's cards don't turn non-black colors to black (to make rendering the image less intensive) like Nvidia's cards do = better image quality.

I was using an Asus 8600GTS 256mb for COD4 until about a month ago. It was overclocked to 750/1050 and ran the game quite well. However, the 8800GT was an ungodly step up and I can max out every graphics setting in the game now.
