just got the MSI TWIN FRZR GTX770 and wanted to see some scores from common benchmarks. I have looked on google but its sometimes a mess because many people are not clear on their exact settings. I just want to make sure everything is working right and card is performing ok.

only bench I ran so far is Heaven 3.0. with every setting maxed at 1080 and I got 52.1 fps 1312 score.

so if you have a 770 or even an oced 680 please post a few benchmarks if you have them. thanks

I see you returned your GTX 780...? Or did you never order it?
yes I returned it due to some slight damage during shipping. then I had second thoughts and went ahead and got the 770 and windows 8.1 and a new hard drive. lol now I wish I had just let them send me another 780 as the 770 really is not all that much better than the 660 ti. I pretty much knew that going in but some games are only seeing about 20% improvement and this 770 runs at 1176 out of the box.

just checking to make sure everything is running properly before putting the game bundle and my 660 ti up for sale.

Hope your 770 isn't 2gB.

Going 2gB this late in the game its a pretty bad idea if you don't plan on upgrading when 20nm comes.

Stinks :( That is a pretty stout stock clock speed for a GTX 770 though. The only person that comes to mind with a GTX 770 is CarFax83. Maybe he can chime in...

I will upgrade again next year so not really worried. the 4gb model is WAY overpriced and will over absolutely zero improvement in any of the games I have at 1080.

Ok so I did the benchmark on Tomb Raider, and something is off with it. I think it's conflicting with my lightboost, because for whatever reason I can't take screenshots. Both of these were done using the optimal settings with Nvidia experience at 1080p.

The first time I ran it was at 60hz V-sync on double buffering. I got
Min: 38.9
Max: 60.0
Average: 51.3

I turned v-sync off and set it to 120hz, and I got
Min:42.0
Max: 76.5
Average: 57.8

And yea, my lightboost is definitely off running it because the 3D light on my monitor turns off while it's maximized. I have no clue why.

Kind of an afterthought, but tress-fx looks horrid. I'm sure it looks good in screenshots, but when you can actually see it moving it's just so unnatural. I wonder how much of a difference it makes with performance...

tomb raider and/or hitman absolution would be good ones.

I can run the Tomb Raider benchmark when I go home, but I use SLI, so it won't reflect single card performance. Plus mine go to 1240 out of the box and they're the 4gb models, but VRAM capacity shouldn't matter.

Also, the GTX 770 benefits from high memory clocks. At 1267 8ghz mem, its very close to a stock 780 and ties it in some games. Have you tried overclocking yet?

what are your exact settings because that cant possibly be fully maxed out? I dont even fool with tressfx. I ran it with everything else maxed out. you have to manually turn everything to do that as just choosing ultra will not max everything which is silly.

just played around a little bit. 1267 seemed fine then I tried 1306 andno go on it after a few minutes. 1254 and 7400 are the highest combo that made it through 3dmark11. any higher on the memory and i got some purple squares. not sure if its just the memory thats that cant oc or if combo of core speed and memory.

just like on my 660ti though this 770 comes no where near using 100% gpu so raising the power target does nothing. even oced the highest it used was 85%.

I was running the same settings except FXAA instead of 4xSSAA. With 4xSSAA my results were

min 31.1
max 56.3
av 42.4

My card is a lightning at stock, what is yours?

mine is the gaming one and it goes to 1176 so what are you hitting for speeds so I can match it?

You won't really see much more improvement with the 4GB anyway...at any resolution:

Does your card run creepy quiet like the Gaming 760s? That was one of the cards I was originally thinking about getting, but back when I made my purchase it was way over priced. All things considered, it is a much better buy now.

lol I cant hear the 770 at all. even when oced it runs in the mid 60s during benchmarks while being as quiet as can be. of course its cool in my room now so I expect maybe 70 during the summer.
